GC ZURICH SIGNS CENTRE-BACK MAKSIM PASKOTŠI

Grasshopper Club Zurich signs its first-ever Estonian player. 20-year-old Maksim Paskotši joins on a three-year contract. The defender, who can play in multiple defensive positions, boasts a track record of 18 appearances for the Estonian first national team and will remain with the squad in the upcoming Internationals.

Paskotši progressed through the FC Flora academy, Tallinn’s first-tier team and record holder. He quickly became a regular in their Under-21 and has already in his mid-teens made two appearances for Flora's first team. Later on, he secured victories in both the Estonian Cup and the Super Cup.

The youngster moved to Tottenham’s Youth in 2020 and made his senior competitive debut a year later in the UEFA Europa Conference League play-off. In total, he participated in 17 matches with Tottenham's U-21 squad.

Sports Director Bernt Haas says: “I am delighted with Maksim’s arrival; With him, we have another option in defence who is versatile. We continue to recruit talented assets that can form the core of a successful GC Zurich in the future.”

Grasshopper Club Zurich is pleased to welcome Maksim to Zurich after the national team break and is looking forward to working with him.
