KALEM AND STROSCIO ON LOAN TO SCHAFFHAUSEN

Robin Kalem has extended his contract with Grasshopper Club Zurich, set to expire in the summer of 2023, for a further year (with an option to extend) and will again be loaned to FC Schaffhausen for the second half of the season. Stroscio will also join the “Munotstädter” on loan until the end of the season.

Kalem was already on loan to FC Schaffhausen in the first half of the season. He was part of the squad in all competitive matches and only failed to make an appearance in the Cup game against Yvderdon Sport. Otherwise, the 20-year-old midfielder is an important regular for Schaffhausen and was in the starting eleven 13 times out of 20 appearances, contributing one goal and one assist. Kalem is also extremely versatile and has played in six different positions.

Stroscio, who has a contract with Grasshopper Club Zurich until 2025, will also join Schaffhausen on loan for the second half of the season. The 19-year-old defensive midfielder joined the GC youth academy in the U8 and has now been with Grasshopper Club Zürich for over 10 years. Stroscio made his professional debut last season in the Super League match against Bern Young Boys at the end of May and has featured in both Cup matches this season.

Sporting director Bernt Haas said: "We are very pleased with Robin's progress at Schaffhausen. We are happy that he can continue his positive development there and collect regular playing minutes until the end of the season. We hope that Simone will also be able to use this opportunity to continuously prove his qualities on Challenge League level."

Grasshopper Club Zurich wishes Simone and Robin every success in the coming months and looks forward to welcoming them back to Zurich in June.
