Oliver Batista Meier joined SGD from FC Bayern Munich II in January 2022. The attacker made 20 appearances for Dresden, scoring eight goals. From January 2023, he then played for SC Verl on loan. In 20 league appearances for the third-tier club, the young player scored nine goals and laid on ten assists.
Batista Meier was born in Kaiserslautern and has dual German and Brazilian citizenship. He began his footballing career at SV Wiesenthalerhof and made the leap to the youth ranks at 1. FC Kaiserslautern at an early age. As a 15-year-old, he joined the academy of FC Bayern Munich, where he made a total of 99 appearances for the U17 and U19 squads, scoring 60 goals and providing 42 assists.The young midfielder also played at all levels of the german national team, from U15 to U20.
