The derby win was followed by a goalless draw away to Lugano on Wednesday evening. New signing Abubakar's debut was one of the bright spots. The attacking player came on for Francis Momoh in the second half and made a few good impressions. Abubakar's next chance to get more game time will come next Saturday, when GC Zurich will host FC Winterthur.
Head coach Bruno Berner before the match: «It's my first game at home against FC Winterthur. We know that FCW has a good offense, but not such a good defense. They always play great games and are certainly eager for the game against us. But so are we and our aim is to get the three points, which would be good for our spirit.»
After a recent positive phase of three wins and a draw, FCW were beaten by FC Basel 1893 last Tuesday. FCB won the game 3:1, while Winterthur had to play with two less players, following two red cards. The first meeting between GC Zurich and FC Winterthur in mid-August last year was won 3:1 by the team from Winterthur.
Head coach Bruno Berner will be without Dirk Abels for the match against Winterthur. The defender is missing due to a yellow card suspension.
As usual, the match can be followed on 86live via live ticker and radio. The match can also be seen on pay TV on blue Sport.
