Grasshopper Club Zurich has loaned Vasco Paciência from Benfica Lisbon. The Portuguese forward joins GC for a minimum of one year, with the option of a permanent move after the season.
Vasco Paciência came through all youth levels at FC Porto before moving to Benfica Lisbon's U23s via Boavista's U19 team. The 1.83-metre-tall forward will be loaned to Zurich for one year. GC has the option of a permanent transfer after the season.
Vasco grew up in a football family. His father Domingos Paciência was active as a player as well as a coach in Europe. Gonçalo Paciência, his brother, currently plays for Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Bundesliga.
Technical Director Seyi Olofinjana: "Vasco came through one of the best youth levels in the world and was able to gain additional experience at Benfica Lisbon's U23. I am pleased that with Vasco we can loan a young, talented striker who wants to take the next step with us."
Grasshopper Club Zurich welcomes Vasco Paciência to Zurich and looks forward to working with him.
