Grasshopper Club Zurich is letting coach Uli Forte go with immediate effect. The club management is thereby reacting to the current sporting results in the second half of the season.

Uli Forte was head coach of  Grasshopper Club Zurich's senior team from 9 April 2019. After being relegated from the Raiffeisen Super League, Forte managed to stabilise the newly formed young team in the summer and even led it to the top of the Challenge League table by playing successful football. He deserves great gratitude and recognition for this achievement.

Subsequently, the team stagnated slightly, but by playing efficient football, the team managed to hold on to its second place until the end of the first round of the season. With the start of the second half of the season, the team unexpectedly fell into a negative spiral. The matches against FC Chiasso, FC Vaduz and FC Stade Lausanne-Ouchy returned only one point and the team's performance was clearly below expectations. It is therefore with a heavy heart that the club management has decided to end its collaboration with coach Uli Forte with immediate effect.

Grasshopper Club Zurich would like to thank Uli Forte for his exemplary commitment and wishes him all the best and every success for the future.

Grasshopper Club Zurich's sports management is currently working intensively finding a new coach in order to present a new head coach as soon as possible. Once a new head coach has been appointed, Grasshopper Club Zurich will schedule a press conference.
