GC signs midfielder Amir Abrashi. The Albanian national team captain has signed an two-year contract in Zurich.

For Abrashi it is a return to Zurich. Already between 2010 to 2015, the midfielder wore the blue and white shirt and collected 155 appearances at GC. Among other things, the 31-year-old was an important part of the team that won the Swiss Cup in 2013. After GC, Abrashi spent six years at SC Freiburg, where he played in 60 Bundesliga and 33 2. Bundesliga games. In the last second half of the season, the Albanian national team captain was loaned to FC Basel 1893. Now follows the switch back to GC.

Technical Director Seyi Olofinjana is looking forward to the new arrival: "I am pleased to bring back Amir, a player who knows what it means to play for Grasshopper Club Zurich. Amir brings a lot of experience and can help us as a leader on and off the pitch."
