The 33-year-old Swiss was formed in the youth department of FC Basel 1893 and made his debut in Switzerland's top division in 2010. In the summer of 2013, he moved to FC Vaduz, having previously been loaned out to various Swiss clubs (including Concordia, Lugano, Aarau and Bellinzona).
In 2017, the former Swiss junior international was signed by FC Luzern and thus moved to central Switzerland. In the Leuchtenstadt, Schürpf proved his offensive qualities and became an absolute crowd favourite over the years. He played a total of 199 games for FC Lucerne and was involved in 94 goals (51 goals, 43 assists). In the season that just ended, Schürpf played 31 games with FC Luzern, contributing five goals and six assists.
In his career so far, Schürpf has also featured in 18 UEFA Europa League (qualifying) matches.
After his contract with Luzern was not renewed, the attacking midfielder has decided to continue his career with Grasshopper Club Zürich by signing a one-year contract with option with the Zurich record champions.
Sporting director Bernt Haas: "We are proud that Pascal Schürpf, an experienced player with over 230 Super League appearances to his name, has decided to join our club. With his signing, we gain an absolute and versatile leader who can create scoring opportunities at any time and will help the team a lot with his experience and mentality."
Grasshopper Club Zürich are looking forward to working with Pascal and wish him every success in Zurich.
