GC ZURICH HOSTS FC SION

At the start of the last quarter of the championship, the Hoppers welcome FC Sion in the 28th CSSL round.

The Hoppers travelled to Bern on Easter Monday with the self-confidence of three victories in a row. However, this series was stopped at the league leaders YB, where GC was beaten 2:0 by the Bernese. Now it continues with the home match against FC Sion. With a full victory, they could further extend the gap to the barrage place and keep the connection to the top places.

FC Sion got back on track in the last two rounds. Before that, they had not won since October last year. Thanks to the 1:2 away win in the 26th CSSL round in Lucerne, the Wallisians celebrated a full success again. Last weekend, they also drew 2-2 in the derby against Servette, which means that Sitten are currently in second-to-last place in the table, one point ahead of the last place. The gap to the Hoppers is seven points. Now FC Sion travels to Zurich for the second time this season, the first time the two teams met in Zurich they drew 4-4.

For the match against Sion, head coach Giorgio Contini will still have to do without the long-term injured Momoh Francis. In addition, Guilherme Schettine is also out of action. The striker suffered an injury to his right knee in the match against Berner Young Boys, which will keep the 27-year-old out of action for several weeks (more information here). Centre-back Ayumu Seko is also serving a yellow ban. In return, Dominik Schmid returns from a yellow ban and captain Amir Abrashi is also available again.

The match can be followed as usual on 86live via live ticker and radio. In addition, the match can be seen on pay TV on blue Sport.

The last quarter of the championship is coming up. Against Sion, we want to show a reaction to the game in Bern. We want to get back to the good results with the three wins in a row. We have always managed to get points against Sion this season and we want to get three points in the last meeting. The team is focused and we are looking forward to play in front of our fans.
