ST.GALLEN HOSTS THE GRASSHOPPERS

The 23rd CSSL round continues for the Hoppers in eastern Switzerland. FC St.Gallen welcomes the Zurich team at Kybunpark.

Last Sunday, the Hoppers failed to score in a match for only the second time this season and were defeated 1-0 in a closely contested game. This makes it three games in a row without points for the Blue and Whites. Now, the Grasshoppers head to Eastern Switzerland, where they will be welcomed by FC St.Gallen 1879. Of the two previous duels, both teams were able to win one game each.

St.Gallen returned to winning ways last weekend with a 4-0 away win over Sion, cementing their place in the top half of the table. FCSG is currently in third place, eight points ahead of the Hoppers. During the week, FCSG was also in action in the Cup quarterfinals. At home, they lost against FC Basel 1893 with 1:2. The decider for Basel came in extra time.

Head coach Giorgio Contini will have to do without Momoh Francis for the match against FC St.Gallen due to injury. In addition, Tsiy Ndenge is absent due to illness and Christian Herc is serving a yellow card suspension. Defender Teruki Hara, on the other hand, is back in the squad after recovering from injury.

The match can be followed as usual on 86live via live ticker and radio. In addition, the match can be watched for free through the livestream on Onefootball.

In St.Gallen, you have to bring a lot of energy to the pitch against a team that always puts you under pressure. You need good one-on-one behavior and a certain commitment. We've played very good games in St.Gallen in the past with GC and also got positive results. We have to show a fighting spirit and look on ourselves, then we will get the opportunities. We now also have to take advantage of these. We've had the chances up front [in all the games so far this season]. The games always end up close. It's annoying to lose by one goal. That's why it's all the more important that we find the efficiency we've had again."
