The last test match of 2022 is coming up. On Saturday, the Hoppers travel to Augsburg, where they will meet FCA at 2 pm. The match will be played behind closed doors.
The first two test matches resulted in a win against Altach and a draw against Luzern. Now the last test match in 2022 is coming up. Away in Bavaria, the team will face Bundesliga team FC Augsburg. For FCA, it is the first of two test matches during the World Cup break. They will then test against 1. FC Heidenheim in mid-December.
Test match behind closed doors
According to FC Augsburg, the WWK ARENA's turf is in a condition where it needs to be spared for reasons of energy conservation, which of course also has an impact on turf maintenance during the winter months. "Especially in view of the expected weather conditions in the coming weeks, the test match between GC and FC Augsburg must therefore take place on the training pitch. Therefore, for organisational reasons, no spectators are possible at the matches."
The Hoppers will then continue to train at the GC/Campus until Thursday, 15 December 2022, before going into the Christmas break.
