GC MEETS FC GOLDSTERN

On Saturday, the Hoppers continue in the Swiss Cup. They will meet the third division team FC Goldstern and are looking forward to a great football game!

The Zurich team suffered its second defeat of the season in Basel. Before the championship continues after the national team break, the second round of the Swiss Cup starts tomorrow. There, the Hoppers will meet FC Goldstern from Bern. In the first round, they beat FC Wettswil-Bonstetten with ease. Centre-back Georg Margreitter is looking forward to a great football game in Bern: "The Cup is always something special and we are looking forward to a great football game. Nevertheless, we will approach the game like any other. Because we want to live up to our role as favourites and definitely move on to the next round."

FC Goldstern is at home in Group 2 of the Bernese 3rd Division and started the season with two wins and two draws. Last season, the Bernese narrowly missed out on promotion, but made a splash by winning the Bernese Cup, qualifying for the Swiss Cup. In the first round, they beat fourth-division team FC Sternenberg and will now face GC in the second round of the Swiss Cup.

For the match against FC Goldstern, head coach Giorgio Contini still has to do without Florian Hoxha, Dion Kacuri and André Moreira due to injury. In addition, Noah Loosli is suspended for the Cup match after his red card against Basel. Tsiy Ndenge and Bendegúz Bolla, on the other hand, have been back in team training since this week and are available to the coach.

The match can be followed as usual on 86live via live ticker and radio. In addition, the match can be watched free of charge (only in Switzerland) via livestream on srf.ch.
