START IN THE SWISS CUP

The Hoppers will start with the first round of the Swiss Cup on Saturday. They will then face FC Wettswil-Bonstetten away.

The league is on hold and gives way to the Swiss Cup. The first round is scheduled for Saturday, in which GC will meet FC Wettswil-Bonstetten. It is to be expected that head coach Giorgio Contini will probably change his squad in some positions for the match against the team from the fourth highest division. GC fans can look forward to Guilherme Schettine in particular. The centre forward's work permit has arrived and he will be in the squad for the match.

The Säuliämtler, who are in the same group as GC U21, started the new season with one win and one defeat. Now it's time for them to play GC in the Cup. About five years ago, FCWB already had the pleasure of hosting a Super League team. At that time, FC Basel 1893 was the guest and advanced to the next round with a 0:2 victory.

Head coach Giorgio Contini will still have to do without Florian Hoxha and Sangbin Jeong for the Cup match due to injury. Hayao Kawabe, Li Lei and Amir Abrashi will also be absent.  Tsiy Ndenge and Bendegúz Bolla are also questionable. In addition, Renat Dadashov will also miss the Cup match due to Covid.

The match can be followed as usual on 86live via Liveticker.
