NEW FACES AT GRASSHOPPER CLUB ZÜRICH

Grasshopper Club Zürich is pleased to officially introduce Romain Villiger as the new Talent Manager. In addition, a familiar face is returning to the youth academy of the Hoppers. Sascha Müller takes over as Head Coach of the U16s.

Romain Villiger will take over as Talent Manager with immediate effect. The 40-year-old Swiss professional brings with him a wide range of experience. Villiger worked for FC Basel 1893 as a youth coach in various areas for around eight years. Most recently, he was Assistant Coach at FC Wil 1900 and FC Vaduz. Now Romain takes over the position of talent manager at the Zurich club. This will make the integration of young talents into the 1st team even easier.

Romain Villiger is looking forward to his new task: "I am excited about my role as Talent Manager at GC Zurich. GC has many interesting young prospects, some of whom have already gained experience with the first team. It is important that the young players are optimally supported on and off the pitch during the transition from the youth academy to the professional team."

There is also good news for the youth department: Sascha Müller returns as Head Coach of the U16s. For over 11 years, Sascha coached GC's youth team. He then moved to GC women in the summer of 2020, where he became Head Coach of the AXA Women's Super League team. As a player, the six-time Swiss international celebrated the Swiss Championship Title with FC St. Gallen 1879 in 2000. Now Sascha is excited to be back at Grasshoppers.

"I am very happy to be back with GC's youth team and to support young talents in the best possible way to get them ready for professional football," said Sascha Müller about his new, old job.

Grasshopper Club Zurich warmly welcomes Romain and Sascha and looks forward to working with them.
