Grasshopper Club Zurich have loaned Nikola Gjorgjev to FC Schaffhausen until the end of the season. The North Macedonian national player only played 60 minutes in the Super League this season and is now moving to FC Schaffhausen in the Challenge League.
Gjorgjev joined Grasshopper Club Zurich in 2013, where he developed and progressed through all levels of the youth academy. In 2015, at the age of 17, Gjorgjev made the leap into the first team. Throughout his years at GC, the attacking midfielder played a total of 206 games with the first team and various selections of the youth academy, scoring 42 goals.
With his 7 goals and 10 assists in 36 appearances, Gjorgjev played a crucial role in Grasshopper Club Zurich's promotion last season, captaining the side to victory on several occasions.
It was important for us to find a solution for Nikola, which will allow him to play more regularly, said Technical Director Seyi Olofinjana. We are hopeful that he can gain new momentum in Schaffhausen and perform to his full potential again. We are very grateful to him for his professionalism and for the incredible contribution he has made over all these years at GC.
