Following a decision from the Swiss Football League (SFL), Grasshopper Club Zurich is once again forced to play in its away kit for the home match against FC Lausanne-Sport on Saturday evening.
Before the start of the season, the club had fulfilled all the necessary steps required by the league and had obtained confirmation that it could perform in its home kit for the first two home matches.
In an email sent to the clubs this week, however, the SFL communicated that their initial allocation of jerseys based on the available design files was not optimal. After reassessing the physical jerseys, the SFL has made some changes to the allocation, which prevents GC again from playing in its home kit.
GC is very disappointed by this decision and regrets not being able to perform in its home kit at the Letzigrund Stadium for the second time in a row. Nevertheless, the club will comply as usual with the regulations of the Swiss Football League and is 100 percent focused on Saturdays match.
