Grasshopper Club Zürich is delighted to announce the appointment of Giorgio Contini as its new head coach.
Giorgio Contini has been with FC Lausanne-Sport for the past three seasons. With Lausanne, Contini reached promotion to the super league in the 2019/20 season, where they finished the last season on the sixth place. Grasshopper Club Zürich is the fourth station as head coach for the Swiss. In total, Contini has coached in 170 super league games.
Technical Director Seyi Olofinjana: We are delighted to have signed Giorgio. In Giorgio we found a very competent and experienced coach, who already has a big knowledge of Swiss football and with whom we want to make the next step.
Giorgio Contini is looking forward on the new task at GC: «I sincerely thank the President as well as all involved, Mr. Berisha and of course our Technical Director Mr. Olofinjana. The anticipation is huge and I am aware that I can be a part of a very exciting project. We as a team, with honest and hard work must quickly convince all our numerous fans that it is worth investing attention, time and effort in us. I accept this challenge and hope for great support from the GC community."
