GC Zurich also drew in Ticino. After taking an early lead through Evans Maurin, they had to concede an equaliser four minutes before the end of stoppage time. The 1:1 draw against Lugano was thus the fourth draw in a row and the ninth game in a row in which GC Zurich did not leave the pitch defeated. GC Zurich now continue their campaign at home against Servette.
After four draws in a row, the Geneva side picked up three points. It was their first win of the new year. They hosted the leaders from Basel at home. Thanks to goals from Antunes and Kutesa, they won 2:1 and thus maintained their position at the top half of the table. Although Geneva did not move up a place in the table, they reduced the gap to the leaders to four points.
The first two meetings between the Zurich side and the Grenats both ended in draws.
Tomas Oral will still be without Youngjun Lee, Mathieu Choinière, Giotto Morandi and Bryan Lasme on Sunday.
