Just 15 days have passed since the Zurich team started training and preparing for the second half of the season and tomorrow's start of the championship in the new year. Eight days of this preparation were spent at the training camp in Sotogrande, Spain. Head coach Tomas Oral's team played two test matches: in both games the team didn't concede any goal and won the second and final test match against Champions League participants Sturm Graz 1:0. With Hassane, Irakunda and Lasme, three new signings are eager to make their CSSL debut.
FC Sion started their preparations one day before the Zurich team. Sion also spent part of their preparations abroad, with the Valais side travelling to a training camp in Morocco. There, head coach Didier Tholot's team played three test matches against three opponents from Morocco's top football league. They lost against CODM Meknès (1:4) and FUS Rabat (0:1), but won the match against MAS Fès 8:3. The Valais side also had to accept an important departure in the new year: Captain Joël Schmid moved to 1. FC Köln in the 2nd Bundesliga with immediate effect. This will be the second clash between the two teams this season. The first was won 3:1 by the Zurich side.
The fan train departs from platform 18 at 11:49. You can find more information about the train at www.sektoriv.ch. If you can't make it to Sion, you can follow the game as usual on 86live via live ticker and radio.
