LAST HOME GAME OF THE YEAR

After the game in the Swiss Cup, Grasshoppers welcome Yverdon Sport for their last home game of 2024. YS are the guests in the 17th CSSL round.

Despite a dominant first half and a disallowed equaliser in the second half, the Zurich side are forced to exit the Swiss Cup in the round of 16. They now continue in the CSSL. Two games are still to come in the 2024 calendar year. Tomorrow, Yverdon Sport will visit Zurich for the first time this season. The team from western Switzerland are currently in 10th place, five points ahead of Grasshoppers. As for GC Zurich, Evans Maurin will miss the game with a yellow card ban. Benno Schmitz is also out with a muscular injury and will not be in the squad again this year.

Yverdon Sport were also in action in the Swiss Cup during the week. On Wednesday evening, they welcomed FC Lugano and were beaten 0:2. Yverdon's journey thus also ends in the last 16 of the Swiss Cup. In the league, Yverdon have been waiting for a full win since their 2:3 victory away to FC Luzern at the end of October. Four defeats and one draw have resulted from the last five games. Yverdon won the first meeting between the two teams 2:1 at home at the end of August.

Tickets for the match against Yverdon can be found here. You can also follow the game as usual on 86live via live ticker and radio.
