GC ZURICH LAUNCHES UNIFIED TEAM

Since September, Grasshopper Club Zurich, in collaboration with the Zwyssig Foundation in Zurich and the Sandoz-Mey family, has been running the GC Unified Team to enable people with disabilities to play football.

Under the three pillars of sport, social life and inclusion, the project aims to unite people with and without disabilities. In addition to training sessions and matches on the pitch, joint team events and excursions are also organized for the 16 members. The GC Unified Team project, which was brought to life in collaboration with the Zwyssig Foundation and the Sandoz-Mey family, was launched in September 2024. The team will play its first match on 10 November 2024 against FC St.Gallen.

The GC Unified Team welcomes all people with different types of disabilities, regardless of their abilities and limitations. Fostering a strong team spirit and a welcoming and supportive atmosphere is key.

GC legend Ricardo Cabanas and player Pascal Schürpf act as patrons of the team. They pay regular training visits to the unified team.
