GC ZURICH HOSTS ST.GALLEN

In the 35th round of the CSSL, the last home match is coming up. The Hoppers will host FC St.Gallen 1879.

Due to the derby defeat and the point gained by FC Basel 1893, the Hoppers slipped down one place in the table and are now in sixth position. The fight for the last European place remains open. Four teams are within two points of each other. The next opponent, FC St.Gallen 1879, is two points behind the Zurich team. Next Thursday is the last home match of the 2022/23 season, in which GC Zurich want to show a reaction to the derby defeat.

The team from eastern Switzerland has found its form again in recent games. Most recently, they drew 1-1 away at FC Lucerne, and before that, they beat FC Basel 1893 clearly at home with 6:1! Now it's time to go to Zurich for the second time this season, the first duel in Zurich was won 3:2 by GC Zurich.

For the match against FC St.Gallen 1879, head coach Giorgio Contini will still have to do without the long-term injured Francis Momoh and Filipe de Carvalho. In addition, Petar Pusic (yellow card suspension) and Giotto Morandi ( minor injury) will miss the match. However, Christian Herc returns from his yellow card suspension and Guilherme Schettine is also ready for a return to action.

There is also good news concerning Francis Momoh. The Nigerian striker has partially taken part in team training since this week. However, he is still in rehabilitation training and it will take a few more months until he is fully recovered.

The match can be followed as usual on 86live via live ticker and radio. In addition, the match can be seen on pay TV on blue Sport.
