GC ZURICH HOSTS LUZERN

The Hoppers continue tomorrow at home against FC Luzern. Kick-off for the match of the 25th CSSL round is at 8.30 pm.

Bruno Berner's team got back to winning ways thanks to their third win in three matches against FC Basel 1893. Thanks to goals from Momoh Francis and Giotto Morandi, they beat Basel 2:1, allowing the Hoppers to overtake FCB in the table again, if only because of the goal difference. Tomorrow, Saturday, the Zurich side will continue the championship when they host FC Luzern in Zurich.

Pascal Schürpf ahead of the match: «We've struggled against FC Luzern so far this season. We now want to change that and also repeat our performance from last week and get the three points.»

Now, sixth-placed FC Luzern comes to Zurich. Three wins in a row were followed by two defeats recently. The last home defeat against FCZ was particularly painful for the central Swiss side, who conceded in the final minute and thus came away empty-handed. The two duels between GC and FCL so far this season have both gone to the Lucerne side.

Head coach Bruno Berner will be without four players for the match against Luzern. Amir Abrashi, Giotto Morandi (both yellow card suspension), Dirk Abels (yellow/red card suspension) and Asumah Abubakar (red card suspension) will all miss the match. The sanction against Asumah Abubakar will be reduced from three to two matches, meaning that Abubakar will only miss the game against Luzern. Additionally, Dirk Abels suffered a hamstring tear during training. He is expected to be out for the next four to five weeks.

The game can be followed as usual on 86live via live ticker and radio. The match can also be seen on free TV on SRF Sport.
