The Hoppers responded to the late equalizer in Lucerne with a convincing home win against Yverdon Sport. Thanks to the 2:0 victory, Marco Schällibaum's team remains unbeaten in the relegation group. "An important three points", was how the head coach summed it up after the game against Yverdon. And with Lausanne-Sport failing to pick up any points at home against Lucerne, the Zurich side shortened the gap to four points. The last home game of the CSSL 23/24 season is now coming up, when they host FC Basel 1893.
Thanks to their victory against Stade-Lausanne on the previous matchday, Basel will definitely remain in the CSSL. In the two games before that in the Relegation Group, Basel drew twice (against Lucerne and Lausanne-Sport). Now it's time for the fourth clash with the Zurich side. FCB have been beaten in all three games this season against the Hoppers so far and will therefore be particularly motivated to secure their first full victory of the season against the Zurich side.
Head coach Marco Schällibaum will still be without Bradley Fink (suspended) against Basel. In his place, Ayumu Seko returns from a yellow card suspension.
