FIRST HOME GAME IN 2025

After a successful start to the second half of the season, the Zurich team continues with its first home game of the year 2025. They will host BSC Young Boys in the 20th CSSL round.

Although the Zurich side had to play almost the entire duration of the away game in Valais with a man less on the pitch, they came away victorious thanks to Verón Lupi's goal in the second half. The Argentinian put the Grasshoppers ahead with a spectacular goal in the 64th minute. This was to be the only goal of the evening, giving GC Zurich their second championship win in a row. As a result, they moved past Yverdon Sport in the table and are now six points behind their next opponents, BSC Young Boys.

The team from Bern kicked off the second half of the season with a home match against FC Winterthur. However, in the duel between the two former GC coaches Giorgio Contini and Uli Forte, neither coach came away victorious. In the end, the match at Wankdorf remained goalless at 0-0.

Contini took over at YB during the winter break and now faces his former club in his first CSSL away game. Before that, however, they were in action in the Champions League during the week. They lost 1:0 away at Celtic Glasgow. They will now face GC Zurich for the second time this season. The first went 1:0 to the Zurich side in the Wankdorf thanks to a goal from Giotto Morandi. Tomas Oral will be without Saulo Decarli tomorrow. The centre-back has been suspended for three matches following his red card against FC Sion. GC Zurich will also be without Youngjun Lee and Mathieu Choinière due to injuries.

Tickets for the match against YB can be found here. You can also follow the game as usual on 86live via live ticker and radio.
