BASEL VISITS GC ZURICH

In the 24th CSSL round, the Hoppers will host FC Basel 1893 at home, kick-off ist at 8:30 pm.

In the third Zurich derby, the Hoppers narrowly lost 1:0. "We were a goal down with an unnecessary penalty. At the time we didn't think it would be the deciding factor," said Head Coach Bruno Berner. Despite their best efforts in the second half, the Zurich side failed to equalise and thus failed to show a reaction. They have now been waiting three games for a victory. Next up are their neighbours in the table, FC Basel 1893, who currently have three points more than Zurich.

FCB is in good form. Fabio Celestini's team has recorded three wins, one draw and one defeat from the last six games. This means that Basel, along with YB and Winterthur has collected the most points within this period. Most recently, they beat FC St. Gallen at home. This season's two games between GCZ and Basel have both gone in favor of the Zurich side.

Head Coach Bruno Berner can once again count on the services of Momoh Francis for the match against Basel. The Nigerian is back in action after being suspended for a yellow card. However, Berner will be without striker Abubakar, who has been suspended for three matches after receiving a red card in the derby.

The match can be followed as usual on 86live via the live ticker and on the radio, or on free TV on SRF Sport.
