Kittel came through the ranks at Eintracht Frankfurt, where he gained valuable Bundesliga experience. Before moving to Polish first division side Raków Czestochowa in the summer of last year, he spent several years with Hamburger SV in the 2. Bundesliga and previously played for FC Ingolstadt. The half-German, half-Polish player was most recently on loan at Western Sydney Wanderers in Australia.
Sporting director Stephan Schwarz comments the transfer: "Sonny's versatility and creativity in attack make him an important addition to the team. We are delighted to have him on board".
Sonny Kittel adds: "I'm really looking forward to the new challenge at GC Zurich and can't wait to play with the team in front of the fans. I would like to thank them for their trust and I will give my all for the club.”
The Grasshopper Club Zurich welcomes Sonny Kittel as a new member of the team and looks forward to working with him.
The parties have agreed not to disclose the terms of the transfer.
