Four players were nominated for the Player of the Month for August, presented by Synergetics. In addition to Youngjun Lee, Morandi, Tobers and Mabil were also up for selection. In the end, however, Youngjun prevailed in the voting and received the most votes from all GC fans.
The new signing celebrated a strong debut against Sion, scoring his first goal for the Grasshoppers after just 42 seconds. The early lead paved the way for the Zurich team's first win of the season. Youngjun Lee was also in the starting eleven for his second match against Yverdon Sport.
