The Clinic for Heart Surgery at Triemli City Hospital has existed for 30 years. A good reason to celebrate this anniversary appropriately. On 26 January the hospital in the southwest of the City of Zurich held an open door day. The occasion was, of course, dominated by the heart - our most important organ.

Some 5,000 visitors
The event attracted lots of interest across age groups: some 5,000 visitors made the trip to Triemli on this wet and cold January Saturday, where they had the opportunity to enjoy a variety of exciting attractions relating to the heart.

Fascinating insights for all age groups
In addition to interesting presentations, among others about heart attacks and cardiac arrythmia, visitors had the opportunity to experience live during panel discussions how a TV broadcast is produced. Prof Omer Dzemali, chief physician at the Clinic for Heart Surgery, offered interested guests an exclusive look behind the scenes of heart surgery: he presented and commented on two videos of frequent heart operations and excited the audience with his humorous explanations.

Autographs with GC stars
Grasshopper Club Zurich also seized this occasion in the City of Zurich and was present with its players. The three professionals Bujar Lika, Cédric Zesiger and Robin Kamber patiently fulfilled requests for autographs and posed for photos with the fans. The GC stars were supported by mascot Tomi. The players of the U18 were available for live ultrasound examinations of the heart – under the interested eyes of the population.
