Grasshopper Club Zürich has hired Mike-David Burkhard as Director of Commercial. As co-founder of BWB International, he has been involved in the football and entertainment sector in recent years and has worked with renowned partnership companies such as Lindt, Migros, Hyundai, Samsung and Olympic. Previously, he was Head of Communications and PR at Italian third division club Carrarese Calcio and worked for the European Club Association and SSC Napoli.
Mike-David Burkhard is looking forward to his role at Grasshopper Club Zurich: «GCZ is a unique sports institution – it is the football club of my childhood and youth. The long-term vision of the owners and the president excites me and I feel proud to join the club. I hope that with my many years of experience in international football, the private sector outside of football, and my extensive network, I can contribute to leading the club into a new chapter». Mike-David will start work at the end of June.
With the changes, the new leadership team for the future will be composed of Mike-David Burkhard (Director of Commercial), Stephan Schwarz (Director of Sports) and Roland Gebhard (Director of Finance). The leadership team will report into the board composed of Stacy Johns, Larry Freedman and András Gurovits. Stacy Johns will remain as president of the board and will continue to work closely with the leadership team. In addition, the board and leadership team will be supported by Harald Gärtner. No CEO will be appointed.
